Besides, Whatsapp was also planned as a messaging app that would allow us to share not only texts among ourselves but images, videos, statuses, stories, contacts, and more. How do we identify our friends or relatives on Whatsapp? What is the basic element of Whatsapp that helps in doing so, which helps us all, I’m sure?

Yes, it is a feature of Whatsapp to reveal the names that we enter as our names on our Whatsapp account to every other contact. Even if there happens to be someone who wants to get connected with you but does not have your number, he/she would detect your name from the text you might have sent and hence, save your number.

However, as every other thing is good unless the dark side of the same has been exposed, this revelation of the number can also lead to certain circumstances that might be uncalled for at times. But there isn’t a way to avoid it? Isn’t it?

The answer is no.

You can choose to make your identity covert and this you can do by keeping your name on Whatsapp empty or blank.
