Method 1: Whatsapp Number Location Tracking Feature
If you’re an active WhatsApp user, you must’ve used the location-sharing feature of this platform at least once or twice. WhatsApp understands the necessity of sharing one’s location with a contact at times and has, therefore, provided us with the ability to share our live location with our friends and family.
If you’ve never used the location-sharing feature on WhatsApp and have no idea how it’s done, allow us to help you with it.
Following are the steps you need to follow in order to get it done:
Step 1: Open WhatsApp on your smartphone. On the Chats screen, you’ll find the list of contacts you chat with in reverse chronological order. Scroll through this list to find the contact you want to share your location with, and then tap on their name to open their chat.

If you’ve never chatted with this person on the platform before, tap on the green message icon floating at the left-bottom of the screen. Doing it will take you to the New Chat tab, where you can select any contact and tap on their name to start a new chat.

In other words, people generally share their current location when they’re inviting someone to their place or office. But when they’re meeting someone outside, sharing live location works better.
Sharing your current location is quite uncomplicated. As soon as you tap on the Send your current location button, it will be shared with this person right away. However, sharing your live location involves more work, which is why we’ll be discussing about it elaborately in the next steps.
Step 6: If you are sharing your location with the group, everyone in the group will track your live location.
Step 7: When you tap on the Share live location button, you’ll see a circular icon of your profile picture on the map and a menu at the bottom. On this menu, you’ll find three different time periods for which you want to share your live location: 15 minutes, 1 hour, and 8 hours.
Once you pick the time of your choosing, you’ll find a blank space where you can Add comments along with your location. After doing all this, tap on the arrow icon at the bottom-left corner of the screen to send your live location.
Once your live location is shared with this person, you’ll see Stop Sharing written under it in red letters. If the purpose of sharing a live location is served, you can tap on it to stop sharing your location.
You don’t have to be active on Whatsapp to allow others to see your location until the share period expires. Everyone you have shared the location with will be able to locate you.
