How does blocking work on Instagram

Here’s how to block someone on Instagram
Step 1: Open Instagram; the first screen is the Instagram feed. At the bottom, tap the Explore icon to go to the Instagram Explore section.
Step 2: At the top of that page, you’ll see the Instagram Search bar. Tap on it and enter the name or username of the user you wish to block.
Alternatively, go to your profile by tapping the icon in the screen’s right corner; it’s a thumbnail of your Instagram profile picture. If you follow them or they follow you, tap on the respective number at the top. You’ll see the option of searching through followers and following.
Step 3: Tap on their profile and then the three dots icon at the top. Tap on the second option on the pop-up menu called Block.
