This setting works best when you’ve got something special to show off, but not t everyone. We all have things like those; it’s why we have three different groups for family, friends, and cousins, right?
Thankfully, Snapchat understands the sentiment. Like WhatsApp, Snapchat has given us the option to show your story to everyone, to just your friends, and a custom list created by you. All you need is to go into the settings, set it right by yourself, and you’ll have nothing to worry about!
Here’s how to change your Snapchat story’s privacy setting
Step 1: Open the Snapchat smartphone app, and you’ll land directly on Snapchat Camera. Tap on the icon of your bitmoji/profile picture at the top right corner.
Step 2: Now, you’re on your profile. You’ll need to go to your Settings, so tap on a gear icon at the top right. On the Settings page, locate PRIVACY CONTROL and open the View my story option.
Step 3: You’ll see three options on the following page: Everyone, Friends Only, and Custom. Tap on the last option, and select every user who you wish to be able to see your story.
That’s about it! Now you don’t need to worry about your new friends seeing your story because they cannot see anything as long as they’re not on the list. And the best part is, no one can see who’s been or has not been added to this list unless you explicitly tell them. Isn’t that so fun?
Now, let’s say you have a friend, or more like an acquaintance, who found out from a mutual friend that they’ve been removed from your story viewers’ list. They’re understandably upset about it, but you have a good reason for your decision.
As you explain it to them, they ignore you and, instead, do something drastic. Maybe they spread some gossip about you or start being rude to you in public. In such situations, it’s very important to stand your ground. One of the steps you should consider is blocking them on Snapchat.
We aren’t asking you to do it forever, just until they realize their mistake and get back to you. Don’t you think that’s more than justified?
Here’s how to block a user on Snapchat
Step 1: On the Snapchat mobile app, go to your Chats page.
Step 2: Locate your chats with the user who you want to block and long press on it. A pop-up menu will appear. Tap on Manage Friendship.
Step 3: On the next smaller menu, tap on the second option called Block, and you’ll be good to go.
