Instagram Follow Request Notification but No Request? Why?

On many occasions, your follow requests can disappear naturally without any technical glitch. The other person might have followed you by mistake or changed their mind soon after following you. In both scenarios, you might get a notification and see no requests after tapping on the notification simply because the person unfollowed you.

However, such situations are generally one-offs and only occur once in a long while. If you are getting these misleading notifications frequently, it likely indicates a bug or a technical glitch.

How can you check if these notifications are natural occurrences or glitches? A common method is logging into your Instagram account on the desktop. If you can see the follow request on the desktop but not on the mobile app, it means there is an issue from Instagram’s end.
